The Haxiang Clean Coal-fired Power Station in Dubai, UAE is the first clean coal-fired power station under construction in the Middle East, and also the first power station project in the Middle East where a Chinese-funded enterprise participates in investment, construction and operation under the framework of the “Belt and Road” initiative. The Haxiang Power Station project has designed 4 clean coal-fired units with a total installed capacity of 2,400 MW and a total investment of approximately US$3.3 billion. It is expected that when it is fully operational in 2023, it will meet 20% of Dubai's total electricity demand.
