The Haiyang Nuclear Power Station is located 200 meters south of Shaojiazhuang Village, Haiyang Nuclear Power Industry Zone, at the east end of a promontory surrounded by the sea on three sides, covering an area of 2,256 acres. With a total investment of over 100 billion yuan, it plans to build 6 million-kilowatt-class nuclear power units, and reserves the site for expansion. Haiyang Nuclear Power, together with Zhejiang Sanmen Nuclear Power, was selected as a landmark project for the introduction, digestion and absorption of China's nuclear power AP1000 third-generation nuclear power technology, to undertake the important task of China's nuclear power autonomy. Units 1 and 2 are the first phase of the Haiyang Nuclear Power Plant. With the completion of equipment installation and commissioning, nuclear fuel is expected to enter the plant in August 2014 and enter the unit in November. After both cold and hot tests, the Haiyang Nuclear Power Plant is expected to be connected to the grid for power generation in the first half of 2016, with an annual power generation capacity of 17.5 billion kWh
